I happened to have the ingredients for s'mores from a while ago and in order to use them up, I found it to be a great idea to make these s'mores brownies! This treat consists of a graham cracker crust, a brownie (of course), and a toasted marshmallow. It's rich and decadent and will go perfectly with a glass of milk. 



Ingredients:

Crust:
2 tbs unsalted butter
3/4 c crushed graham cracker crumbs
1 tbs sugar
pinch of salt

Brownie:
1/4 c unsalted melted butter
2/3 c unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 rounded tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1/3 c flour
1/4 c chocolate chips

Topping:
About 8 marshmallows, or enough to cover the pan.

makes 8 brownies, double the recipe for 16

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease the brownie pan.
Using your hands or an electric mixer, mix together the butter, graham crackers, sugar, and salt in a small bowl. Press the mixture evenly over the pan, kind of like making a pie crust. Bake the crust for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
While the crust is baking, begin the making the brownie batter. Blend the butter and sugar together until it's smooth. Later, add in the cocoa, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract. Following that, whisk in the egg, until it has reached a smooth consistency. Lastly, add the flour and chocolate chips and blend until evenly combined. Pour the brownie batter over the baked crust. Increase the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the toothpick comes out clean.
Once the brownies are completely baked, layer the marshmallows on the top of the brownies and put the pan back into the oven and bake for about 2 more minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden. 





These brownies definitely resemble s'mores, they have the same bold flavors. I found that it was immensely sweet, so you'll definitely need a drink to go along with this. However, it's a tasty treat that does a great job combining the two classic desserts!
