Have you ever been to Disney World and visited the Cinderella Castle? A little fun fact, the Neuschwanstein castle in Germany actually inspired that castle. This picturesque castle made the Cinderella Castle that we know the way that it is. It's different than most castles, with a white exterior instead of a brown one, and is beautiful and magical looking.

Note: The picture above was taken during around noon-- one of the not so great times to take pictures due to the harsh sun. Blogger problems at their finest!

Unfortunately we did not get to go up to the Neuschwanstein castle, since you need a tour to go up there and the tour times were inconvenient for us. We were planning to spend the day there and then drive along to our next destination at around dinner time and the only available tour times were at the time that we planned on leaving at. However, we did get to go to the Hohenschwangau castle, which is said to have a great view of the Neuschwanstein castle and is still nice itself. We didn't get to go inside the Hohenschwangau castle either, since there was also a tour time issue, but we did get to go up it and see the view and explore the outside of the castle. In order to get up there, we had to either do a good amount of walking or take the horse-drawn carriage. Since we were in a bit of a hurry, we took the horse drawn carriage.

Once we made it up there, you could see a view of the side of the Neuschwanstein castle as well as look down on the little village. The Hohenschwangau castle had some fountains outside and an interesting architecture.

That was pretty much about all that we did in the area, we spent most of the day driving from destination to destination, but this was definitely a nice spot along the way to visit and it truly is famous because of the Cinderella castle in Disney.
