If you're an active internet user, which you probably are, you've likely heard of the phrase, "life goals." We often use this phrase to describe things that we're envious of, that we wish could be true in our lives. For example, you may look at a celebrity who seems to have it all and say that they're your life goals. This term gets thrown around all the time nowadays and sometimes you have to think to yourself, what are really my life goals? Sure, having a mansion and adoring fans might sound great, but do you really want that? As a young person, I have my whole life ahead of me, I have a chance to decide what I want to do with my life, so it's important that I discover my true life goals and how to make them a reality.

Making your life goals come true is easier said than done. You may have a dream college that you want to attend, but you still have to get there through lots of work. Unlike movies, the hard work isn't merely a montage of training and practice, it's much more difficult and requires determination and persistence. So what should you do to make your life goals solely your life?

Plan out your steps to success. How can I reach my goal? You may need to sign up for classes or do some practice, depending on what your goal is, but you need to have a rough idea of what you need to do, so that you can take action and do them to get closer to achieving your goal.
Be willing to learn. In order to reach your goals, you have to be open to learning. Even if you're not in school anymore, in reality, the learning never stops. There are so many opportunities to learn from others that have achieved what you desire.
Throw away excuses. I can't tell you how many times I've said to myself, "I can do that later." When it comes to your dreams, don't just sit around and wait. While I was still on the fence on whether or not I should make my blog, I was worried about other people finding out about my blog or being too young, since many bloggers are in college or even older. However, I pushed myself to put the excuses aside and now I realize that my worries for nothing and it was a decision for the better.
Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. I'm the kind of person that clings to what I'm comfortable with. I don't like doing things that make me feel uncomfortable. However, sometimes things like that can actually help you grow. Starting a blog was definitely putting myself out there and is definitely not something inside my comfort zone, but it all paid off in the end. Your excuses are not the only thing holding you back, but also your comfort zone. Don't let it limit your life.
Take action. You have to think to yourself, if not now, then when? You may have your whole life ahead of you, but if you never start climbing the ladder to success, you'll never get to the top. Every journey begins with a single step, so stop sitting around and take that first step.

Next time someone says the phrase, "life goals," think about what your life goals really are. So what are you going to do today?  Today is the day to start living the life you'd imagined. It's time to stop talking about your dreams and start living your dreams. Make your life goals a reality.
